I am going to blog about NCAA violations and how rediculously messed up the system is. Between Mississippi State and Miami there are 18 players that have been suspended in the passed week. There have also been big violations by LSU and Ohio this year already. The assistant coach for Miama has been suspended for providing some of the players with cash, cars, gifts, and prostitutes. He also let them use his yacth and one of his houses to throw parties. LSU has recently been hit with a big suspension of their starting quarterback for receiving over $6,000 in materials from the University.
There are only 15 teams in the top 25 that have not had any arrests or suspensions in the past year, which means there are 10 teams that have violated atleast one rule. A lot of them have violated more than one and with numerous players. All of these violations that have been mentioned are only in College football. This does not even include baseball or basketball. It seems to me that there are not really any coaches or players out there that actually have standards and morals. Even though they get suspended and they have to repay the Universities, what are other ways to keep players and coaches honest?
The only person you can truly trust is yourself honestly. I agree the punishments should be way harsher for certain violations. Everyone sees the world from a different perspective, the coach giving the players those things is definitely not right. Like Gandhi said "Be the change you want to see in the world."
